Invitation
The Hungarian Communion of Friends cordially invites all to the ITT-OTT Conference being held August 14-21, 2010 in its traditional home, Lake Hope State Park in Ohio. For over thirty years, the conference has been presenting high level lectures and discourse while also providing an opportunitiy for families to vacation together. The joyful sound of children is a vital element of our gathering. At Lake Hope we all get rejuvenated and get recharged with enough Hungarian spirit to last throughout the year.
The theme of the 2010 Conference: Cultivation of Self – Strengthening of the Nation
The cornerstone of our event is the program of morning lectures. These provide fuel for important debate and discussion that last well past the morning hours, from our relaxation time through our evening campfires. We also offer Children’s programming alongside our morning schedule; and teens and young adults also have organized opportunities to meet each other and interact with our invited lecturers. After communal lunches, our participants can rest by the beach, swim or take out a boat. Our evening presentations are usually musical, literary and entertaining in nature. Finally, we usually finish our already full days with informal gatherings, group singing and conversation lasting well into the night.
During the week, the rows of cabins in this state park transform into a small village where the language you overhear all around is Hungarian. All generations are represented here. At night, as you walk along the road of this village, you can see young people dancing in one cabin, middle-aged people having a lively discussion in another, and in the third, older folk singing their favorite songs. The impressions left by ITT-OTT are beautiful and lingering. We recommend it for all families.
